Developmental (Grassroots) Level
Community level curlers and coaches will be provided continuing education programs, clinics and seminars to facilitate in their development and maintain their interest in the sport of curling.
Pilot programs for continuing adult education will be developed and tested at selected clubs across the region. Once programs have been proven, they will be packaged in a “Resource Guide” for all clubs.
A performance program for adults will be developed and implemented. The focus of the program will be strategy, skill development and mental and physical training.
A series of intermediate workshops will be developed and implemented across the region. Clinics will focus on the continuing education of adults. The series will assist in the promotion and distribution of resource materials and skills programs geared at this market.
Coaching development opportunities will be available through camps and clinics. Club instructors/coaches will assist provincial and national level coaches in the delivery of junior and adult intermediate clinics and camps.
Summer Development Camps:
Junior curlers will be provided the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge of the game through the organization of the Whitecap Curling Camp which will be held every summer. The camp will be limited to the novice and intermediate junior curler.
